nice but the sharpie/permanent marker/tipp ex pen/soldering iron melt in is less likely to suffer human or animal intervention and have tags go missing
Like many here, I think this is a win, not a fail. How creative!
Agreed, writing on the plugs would be less likely to result in tag loss, but reusing bread tags in this way is “recycling” at its best, and cheap to boot.
Bravo!
P.S.: Sister & Mom agree with me.
I don’t think its a bad idea per se, like some people make it out to be.
On the other hand… you mean to tell me you don’t just have some scrap of paper and some tape lying around? Twisty ties? Rubber bands? Paper clips? Masking tape? There is literally a drawer full of junk somewhere in your house that could perform the same function really.
Its not exactly a GENIUS idea. A fun idea, but not mind boggling.
It seems all we get are twist ties these days. Well, the last time I bought English muffins, that package was sealed with one of those tags. Maybe I just buy the wrong kind of bread.
The one on the right is practical if you need to unplug cords and you want to make sure you unplug the correct one. I don’t see the point of labeling in the middle of the cables though.
I’d rather use something that is actually likely to stay on the wires. I can just imagine a small pile of these on the floor while all the cords remain unlabeled.
The KwikLoc, invented by Floyd Paxton or Yakima, WA. For many decades they were produced only in New York and Yakima.
I have never seen a mouse that required two wires. What is that?
This.
It’s probably plugged into the side of the keyboard, and this is the excess loop.
Likely a wireless mouse dock, which has a power cord as wells as USB.
That is brilliant. *Starts saving kwikloks*
Doesn’t look much like a fail to me.
Brilliant! This should be on There, I Fixed It, too. I usually just write directly on the plug ends of the cords with a silver sharpie, though.
ditto
Why would this be a fail?
Interesting how one of the AC cords is labeled “Power.” I’d have thought that was a bit obvious from the NEMA plug on the end.
It’s so that you don’t have to follow the cord all the way to the end in order to know what it is.
No, I got it, it doesn’t make sense on the right. I’m pretty sure its power to the PC… but it would have made more sense to mark it ‘PC’.
Otherwise, you technically could mark ALL the plugs in the strip as ‘POWER’.
great idea, thanks!
A great way to keep tabs on your cables!
Brilliant!

These tags are easier to read, though.

Can’t say I’ve got any of the above lying around; my apartment isn’t an office supply cabinet.
…Although for the posted idea to work, that would mean I’d have to buy bread.
Why haven’t I thought of this?!
“I’d Rather Dig Through A Mess Of Wires, Thank You”
Well then, frankly, you’re kind of an idiot.
I’m pretty sure that was sarcasm.
I wish someone had told me about this idea 25 years ago when those things still came free with loaves of bread.
Where I live, they still do! =D

Trolling by the bread companies to sell more bread… and keep Americans fat.

Been doin’ that on the spark plug wires of cars since cars had carburetors on ‘em.

I agree with the title, this is gay
