you don’t have to be a network admin for this. just have a lapotp/pc with access to a public network (like starbucks or something), if you have win7 you just open My Computer and find the Network option at the left, open it, and now you know who has files shared on the network, and if they have it on “Everyone” then you can do something like this.
Was it writable too? You could leave him a note.

Should have dimed his ass out to the nearest Air Force base. Then his silly ass would have ended up standing tall in front of his commander having to explain what he did – right before his commander told him he was probably going to lose his clearance and be reassigned to counting screws in a supply unit in Greenland.
Of course he could have simply set the network location to Public when Windows asked him.
those are Air Force orders. I would have expected that from an Army guy. Bad airman, bad.
A 1040EZ? Who lives above poverty level and files one of those? I can’t think of anyone who has a serious job and files one of those. I thought those were mostly for teenagers that own nothing and make slightly more than gas money to get there.
