Isn’t that the truth
GLaDOS.
If the QA somewhere were GLaDOS, I assure you, I would buy everything from that company. Aperture has all my cash.
But unfortunately, she’s a fuel-line deicer.
I don’t know, GLaDOS can produce some very good products but as a QA tech she isn’t that hot. All of my experienced have included a higher than acceptable level of nerve toxin.
Again: Built as a Fuel line deicer, not a QA.
So, where’s Information Security?
The impression I get from this chart is that project managers see clients as strong, independent, rabble-rousers who stand up for what they believe in and are despised and blamed for all the ills of the world by their hate-mongering enemies. Your mileage may vary.
No..the correct version is that they see them as barely functioning adults who have no clue as to how the real world works, yet continuously subject the rest of us to their lunacy.
… and never finish what they start.
I’m with you on your impression.
Yeah, that’s the one picture I would change in this chart because she is so polarizing and everyone seems to have their own opinion of her.
Yeah, that one picture ruined the whole chart for me. I’m not a fan of hers, but the deranged hatred directed at her is seriously getting on my nerves.
I agree it can be a polarizing picture, but I think the majority have seen through the facade and only a handful are still memorized by the spell.
Whatever that means.
“the majority have seen through the facade and only a handful are still memorized by the spell”
? ? ? ?
I suspect that we all look the same to the after-hours vacuum guy.
I once worked in a 17-story building where every restroom on every floor
was closed from 5:15 to 5:30pm.
I’m a developer and I approve of this chart. We are one big dysfunctional software development family!
I’m a designer, my father is a project manager, and one of my best friends is a developer.
So I’d have to say, yeah, this is pretty darn accurate.
Although I think the client view of a designer could go one of 2 ways, a good client would match this chart. A bad client would view a designer as a Photoshop/InDesign/whateverprogram cursor.
This is hilarious. It’s funny ’cause it’s true.
This is all kinds of awesome.
Software engineer here – 100% accurate. Thanks!
WIN.
It’s funny because it’s true!
What’s QA?
Quality Assurance – guys who test and prepare testing (in a nutshell)
Quality assurance
QA = Quality Assurance. They are nearly extinct nowdays.
*nowadays
We call them QC now…
No, QA and QC are two different things. If you’re calling your QA guys QC, then you’re doing it wrong.
I’m a QA specialist and we’re not extinct!!!
i think that was at’s point… :7)
Come back, QA, come back…we miss you…
*face palm*
WTF ! “Designers seen by Project Designers” is Valérie Damidot with Max Boublil !
“I don’t want to live on this planet anymore…”
Quality insurance. I’m a project manager and I approve of this!
Assurance not insurance. Duh!
QA is Quality Assurance. They make sure the product meets the written specifications.
You mean you’ve seen a product with writte specifications before?
written
Awesome!
However, I don’t think that clients think that project managers are intelligent and well-spoken.
You must be in Human Resources then.
Thus the picture of Sarah Palin
You haven’t seen “The Office” movie, have you….
Me neither.
I’ve seen “Office space” though.
I’m not sure “intelligent and well-spoken” was what the author was going for when choosing Bill Lumbergh for the picture.
And Admin to Rule them all. (trust me on this… my wife is admin)
This is the absolute truth!!! Perfect for those who are starting in any of the fields
I guess project managers don’t have much of an opinion of themselves.
I’m a QA guy and I approve of this message.
Designers as seen by Clients…hmmmmm…. I’ve seen some pretty stupid designs…also seen some pretty awesome ones, so it could go either way….
WHY does everyone forget customer service!?!?!?!
Customer service so needs to be in this!
‘Borrowing’ for my deviantArt at some point…
No one ever remembers customer service, =(
I think the customer service row would look something like:
Customer service – janitor with a bucket and a mop
Developer – picture of pilz-e
Designer – picture of someone scribbling in Paint
PM – dog chasing own tail
QA – someone trying to insert a CD into a floppy drive
Clients – kid picking their nose
“I don’t always buy from this company, but when I do I imagine myself as the most interesting man in the world. Caveat emptor, my friends.”
You have won one (1) free internet.
Can I get a larger picture of the designers as viewed by designers? >:)
It’s funny because it is true.
Im a developer and find it spot on.
My wife is QA and she agrees 100%.
UA is missing =(
Now that is funny and spot on. Can’t we all just get along?!!
Pretty good chart, although two of the images do not work for me:
The Palin one, because people’s ideas about her differ so much.
The Da Vinci one: This is about negative misconceptions, right? So why Da Vinci?
Where’s the Business Analyst? Or Business Systems Analyst? As a BA, I approve …. LMAO!
