job lols - If Only...

There would be utter pandemonium amongst office workers if Comic Sans suddenly blinked out of existence, and I would thoroughly enjoy every second of it. Then they’d claim some other eye-searing typeface for their anti-aesthetic and we’d be back at square one. Grrr.

    And Papyrus, too.

  2. Biri says:

Well, since both Apple and Apple fanboys like to claim that all Apple users are hip and cool graphics designers, this menu would have about as much effect on the general Comic Sans-using public as starting an Internet campaign against it.

  3. comic sans hater says:

i HATE how they made us do the stupidest font ever in elementary school and some of middle school I like century gothic because it doesnt waste ink like comic sans. those teachers are so STUPID because thats probably what made them lose money on precious precious ink lol laters!!!!

  4. pooslie says:

why does everyone hate comic sans so much?
it is easy to read with out being stale old arial or times new roman

i mean yes there are better fonts but not everyone is an artist/designer.
sometimes people just want to whip up something super quick and don’t feel like sorting through the 1000000000 fonts out there.

if YOU don’t like it then YOU shouldn’t use it but don’t expect people with more important things to do to to spend 2 hours making a stupid sign that no one is going to read any way

    • WeirdFish says:

      “with out being stale old”

No, that’s exactly why it’s hated. It’s the lazy go-to font when attempting to be “hip” or “edgy.”

If you want “super-quick,” stick to Arial, Garamond, TNR, Verdana, etc. Don’t try to be cute and clever with a played-out and overused font that’s lost what little impact it may have had (speaking of Impact….). Focus on the message and leave being cute and clever to those who have the ability.

Comic Sans, Papyrus, and Space Toaster are the font-crutches of the weak. Requires zero creativity, and it shows.

Yeah people complain over the dumbest things.

I like Comic Sans just because it’s cute.

      • Lea says:

That’s the problem – it’s cute. It’s way too cutesy and immature, and it’s the go-to font for stupid elementary school teachers in their 20s who assign students the absolute most asinine projects out there that are supposed to be “fun” but are really just a big pain in the butt.

        /rant :)

Times New Roman is not stale!

  5. kevtheis says:

It should be called Sans Comic, cause I don’t find it funny… just like this post.

  6. Mari says:

I actually LIKED comic Sans when I first used it – then I realized that I saw it EVERYWHERE. It wore thin on me pretty fast, and then it REALLY annoyed me when I started design school.

  7. Chris says:

I love how hating on Comic Sans is the cool thing to do these days. It’s like all of a sudden anyone who has ever used the internet seems to thing they’re a graphic designer or something.

Personally, I’d rather stick with an all-purpose font, but a lot of people still like comic sans and I don’t begrudge them for that. As a previous poster said, at least comic sans is easy to read.

  8. scottie says:

comic sans is the only type face that people with dyslexia can read/understand well- so stop being so precious about it.

  9. Thalia says:

I’m a fan of Times New Roman myself, but I’m okay with others using other fonts, as long as they’re readable.

  10. Comic Sans never hurt anyone!

  11. tahrey says:

how the hell has a mac ended up with “comic sans MS” installed on it?
