Good. I like my pint with a few obstacles on the side – keeps out the riff-raff.

  1. Seagull says:

Curious, the text on this board is not hand written. Either that, or the one who wrote it is meticulous with the consistancy of their handwriting.

    • Hyorinmaru says:

Actually, it is handwritten as you can see if you notice that the letters are different sizes.

      • Seagull says:

Believe it or not, when you type text, you can alter its size.
As an example, take a look at every E, the look identicle.

        • Sebo says:

Yeah, but look at the As -> must be handwritten

        • Ian says:

The e’s are the ones that make this look hand made
look at the first e in “Notice” then compare it to the two in “been”, the two in “been” don’t even match exactly either.

Some people are just very precise.

        • Bru says:

Believe it or not, people have been creating interesting looking signs with consistent lettering for as long as people have been able to write.

  2. steve says:

Curious. . .not a word about the revolting toilets!

  3. ClariPossum says:

“the price of a pint does not include childcare.”

    WIN!!!

I want a sign that says something like that at my job! “The price of a hotel room does not include babysitting fees.” XD

  4. chris says:

This is a stupid question, but what is a hotfire?? Based on the context, I’m assuming it’s some sort of building feature, and not an actual fireplace/pit.

  5. neil says:

Yes, it was a stupid question – it says “hot fires” as in fireplaces. Given the context, I would have expected that would be all to obvious.

  6. steve says:

Re. “hotfire”: I suspect it’s an electric heater made to look like a coal fire in a fireplace, to provide some olde-time-pub ambience.

    • Xavi says:

I assumed it meant actual open fires, which are often hot, and the space between the words has merely been made too small/left out by accident, making it look like it’s one word.

  7. Drew says:

shoudn’t it be “increasingLY litigious society”?

    • Regius says:

Not at all Drew. English usage allows for “ly” to be added to a verb to create an adverb, but it is not a strict rule.

  8. Grrr Power says:

My goodness…. signs of this ilk have been around for eons… almost to the exact word!
What’s next… MtF featuring a “You don’t have to be mad to work here….. but it helps!!!” sign? =:/

  9. Not sure I want to go into a wooden place that has hot fires.
